Christopher Candland’s 2012 Teaching and Research Projects

Christopher Candland conducted research in Pakistan in July and August 2012 on an AIPS grant, studying social welfare associations in Pakistan.  He gave a talk on the 'Political Consequences of the Private Provision of Public Goods in Pakistan' to the Council on Social Sciences and at the Akhter Hameed Khan Resource Centre.  With logistical support from AIPS, administrative support from Fatima Jinnah Women University in Pakistan, and financial support from Wellesley College, this fall Professor Candland and Fayyaz Baqir are teaching a video-conference course on the Politics of Human Development in Pakistan for students in Rawalpindi and Wellesley.
