AIPS is no longer accepting Fellowship applications. Application deadline was January 1, 2016 at 11:59PM, CDT.
Liability Waiver
Each participant will be required to sign a release that stipulates the relevant security issues that need to be adopted (if applicable) and the fellowship terms and conditions.
Fees
A non-refundable processing fee of $30 must be sent to AIPS within one week of the application deadline. Any applications that are incomplete may not be reviewed. Any application fees paid will not be refunded.
Post-doctoral awardees who are not affiliated with an AIPS member institution must pay an administrative fee of $250 before beginning the fellowship. Completed all requirements of PhD except dissertation applicants do not need to pay the administrative fee, but must enroll as AIPS individual members prior to commencing the fellowship.

Application Procedure
The application is an online package. Candidates must use this online application package. You will be able to save, exit, and return to this application after you have begun. Paper or email applications will not be accepted.
Letters of Recommendation and Transcripts:
- Post-doctoral applicants are required to submit just one letter of recommendation. Post-doctoral applicants are not required to submit their transcript(s).
- Completed all requirements of PhD except dissertation applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation; one letter must be from their dissertation advisor. In addition, pre-doctoral applicants must submit their transcript(s).
** Please note that you are still able to upload three (3) letters of recommendation on your application, but are only required to include the above requirements.

Review Process
Once the deadline for applications has passed, fellowship applications are sent to an external review committee, made up of Pakistan Studies scholars and/or members of the Executive Committee. All applications will be reviewed in a timely manner. We thank you for your patience while we process and review all awards. When possible, AIPS will provide an updated timeline of the review process.
