AIPS Member Harrison Akins recently published a new article titled "Tribal Militias and Political Legitimacy in British India and Pakistan" in the journal "Asian Security." Akins' article examines the role of pro-government militias and the way that they are used by governments to support the political legitimacy of local governance structures.
